New Filters, Chokes and Feedthrough Components Catalogue Available from Schaffner EMC

EDISON, N.J. March 2006 – Schaffner EMC, a leading provider of EMI/RFI components and solutions for power quality, has introduced a new line of common-mode chokes that offer high inductance in a compact size, resulting in effective EMI suppression in limited space. The EV/EH chokes are ideal for use in a number of applications, including televisions, monitors, telecommunications devices and switching power supplies.

The EV/EH chokes are available in a wide range of inductance values (up to 90 mH) and currents (up to 5 A). The vertical EV chokes feature a narrow width and the horizontal EH chokes offer a low profile. Low magnetic leakage flux allows designers to mount circuits densely. Two-section winding allows high frequency resonance. The broadband attenuation characteristics provide a stable frequency response, preventing unexpected resonance problems.

The chokes are UL-rated and RoHs-compliant with a flammability rating of UL94-V0. The chokes have a weight of 10 g to 70 g; a maximum operating voltage at 50° of 250 v; operating and storage temperatures of -25°C (-13°F) to +100°C (+212°F); a power operating frequency at +50°C (+122°F) of DC to 400 Hz; a maximum resistance tolerance at +25°C (+77°F) of ±15 percent; and an overcurrent of 1.5 x l nominal for 60 seconds, once every hour. High potential test voltage winding to winding at +25°C (+77°F) is 3000 VAC 60 seconds guaranteed and 2000V 50 Hz two seconds factory test.

Pricing is $0.25 in quantities of less than 10,000. Additional volume pricing is available. Delivery is four to six weeks ARO.
